Whether you are on a layover, just passing through the city, or are visiting on a day trip, read on to make the most of your day in Montreal.
Start your day by heading to St-Viateur Bagel for breakfast. Try one of their fresh, wood oven baked bagels with cream cheese and salmon, or with a different topping of your choice. We promise you won’t be disappointed!
Next, head to the top of Mont-Royal for a unbelievable city view and feed the hungry raccoons at the belvedere- where you’ll you’ll find the best view of the city!
After all that walking, you’ll probably be as hungry as the raccoons that call the mountain home, but don’t worry- we have the solution for you. Make your way to Schwartz’s Deli (owned by Celine Dion among others) for a delicious smoked meat sandwich. *YUM*
After you’ve satisfied your hunger, it’s time to go back in time in the Old Port of Montreal… 400 years ago to be exact. Walk down cobblestone roads while enjoying European architecture. Don’t forget to stop at the elegant Notre-Dame Basilica. It’s beautiful and totally worth it!
You can’t leave Montreal without trying our most famous dish: La Poutine – french fries, cheese curds and topped with a light brown gravy. Delicious! We recommend Patati Patata for the classic recipe or If you are feeling adventurous, you can try different varieties of our infamous Poutine by heading to La Banquise. (in and out)
By now, you’re probably pretty thirsty. You can end your day by sampling local craft beers at Pub BreWskey in the Old Port or head back to the Plateau where you can find the Dieu du Ciel Brewery or le Saint Bock, both of which are excellent choices!
We hope you enjoy your quick stay in Montreal and we look forward to seeing you again soon. À la prochaine!
